I'm Jamie, and I'm so glad you're here!
Helping parents navigate the process of welcoming a new baby into their family is my passion. Every family deserves a safe and satisfying birth experience, and I want to help you greet labor with knowledge, connection, and trust. Your experience matters. You might be here because you’re feeling scared, nervous, or overwhelmed by the amount of information and decision making you have to get through. You might want to achieve your dream birth but are wondering how you will get through it all? Having compassionate, individualized, and non-judgmental support from a seasoned doula can make all the difference. I support ALL birth! Hospital, birth center, or home birth, unmedicated or planned epidural, inductions and cesareans; I will meet you exactly where you are and help you achieve your goals. It is always an honor to have the opportunity to share in such a special time with you whether that is through birth & postpartum support, breastfeeding help, childbirth education, or capturing beautiful moments through my lens, I’m ready to start this journey with you!

The concept of labor companionship is well-documented from ancient times to present day evidence-based research. As a doula I provide one-on-one emotional, educational and physical support that has been shown to make significant positive differences in labor and birth outcomes.

These sessions take place in the first few days of life. I come to wherever you’ve birthed or your home and spend time helping you remember every small detail you never want to forget.

I am in love with the messy, crazy ride that is motherhood. Birth changes our lives in so many ways, and no matter how you give birth you should see yourself through an artist’s point of view at the height of this transforming, empowering, and sacred journey. You should also feel so supported!

There’s nothing stiff or fake about the portraits we create, and there’s no need to say “cheese!” My sessions are all about making you feel comfortable, relaxed, and at ease; enjoying the moment so completely that you forgot photo sessions were supposed to be stressful & boring.

Jamie was the amazing doula that attended and supported my labor. During labor, Jamie’s support was invaluable and worth every penny. Jamie provided amazing physical and moral support. I am pretty sure that during the 24 hours she supported me she neither ate nor used the bathroom, she was a constant source of help! In addition, she brought well rounded medical information that assisted in helping me make good decisions for myself and my baby. I would ask the doula team to support me again, and would recommend them to my friends.
Jamie kept me calm and gave me so much strength when I thought I couldn’t keep going. She was also such a helpful guide for my mom and husband who wanted to help but needed direction on how best to do so.

Jamie is an amazing and talented person. She took some of the most beautiful photos of my labor and delivery that I will ALWAYS cherish. Every aspect of my birth was depicted in her pictures- the pain, the joy, the love. All of it so worth it. Aside from her photography, she is such a breath of fresh air. When I got to the point in labor where I felt like “I can’t” I remember her calming and peaceful voice in the background encouraging me and telling me “I CAN”- and that helped me get through to meet my beautiful daughter. She is a joy to be around and really shaped the atmosphere of my birth. She made me feel empowered in my birthing experience and I will always and forever cherish her.

Jamie is like a member of our family now, after being our doula for our son’s birth in Nov. 2019. She is skilled, experienced, efficient, deeply empathetic and kind, and knew just what I needed as a person giving birth for the first time.

Jamie was an incredible resource and support for my husband and I, especially the week leading up to and the time of our daughter’s birth. I texted at all times of day and night with questions and updates on my progress. She always responded in a timely matter and offered guidance that I found reassuring and useful. At the time of the birth, she advocated for me in the delivery room and coached my husband in how he could be the best support. Once our daughter was born, she captured those amazing first moments in gorgeous pictures that we will treasure forever. I couldn’t recommend Jamie more!
Fantastic experience!! Due to giving birth during COVID, the actual birth portion was done virtually but still was very helpful. Our doula kept in close communication with my husband offering suggestions and support the entire time. Both the before and after home visits were extremely helpful and the photo session was priceless. Highly recommend!
I cannot overstate how wonderful Jamie is as a doula and a human being, and how fortunate we felt to have her guidance during the birth of our son. She is calm, patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. In addition to supporting us tirelessly through a long labor, she took photos that will be keepsakes for a lifetime. She provided great advice on all kinds of random questions both before labor began and after our son was born. I would have happily paid twice what we did for her services. She is worth her weight in gold.

Jamie is amazing! We found out early on in my pregnancy with baby #3 that my husband would be deployed at the time of the baby’s birth. At first I thought I could handle it on my own, since I had already gone through it twice before. My husband really pushed for me to hire a doula, as he wanted to know that I would have the support I needed. I am so glad I followed his advice and found Jamie!
She was a great calming presence throughout my very short labor. When she got to my house she was able to see that we needed to get to the hospital ASAP and never once pushed me to labor at home any longer than I felt comfortable. She drove me to the hospital and was able to keep me relaxed, even as I was feeling the urge to push. We are so thankful she was a huge part of our daughter’s birth story.
Jamie was my doula almost 2 years ago. She is the type of person who was meant to be a doula. You can tell she loves what she does. She’s professional and makes you feel comfortable, she is caring and kind and goes above and beyond for her clients. She also took wonderful pictures I will cherish forever.

This week I had the most wonderful experience of working alongside Jamie who is a doula at JMS Births. I am a labor and delivery nurse and have worked with many professionals in my years, I was blown away by Jamie! She was the epitome of what a Doula is and should be. She ROCKED it and helped a growing family rock it as well ♥
Jamie is an amazing friend and doula. 4 years ago, after finding out that my doctor didnt believe i could have a successful VBAC and he wanted me to have another c-section, i found Jamie. Her belief in me made me believe in myself. I had an unmedicated (almost at home) VBAC and Jamie was by my side squatting away with me!
Last year, i had my 3rd child, but this time in Germany. Jamie was there for me to remind me that I had it in me to do it and to not be afraid. When I went into labor, i messaged Jamie right away. She was there for me as she had told me she would be, over messages despite an 11 hour difference.
Jamie holds a special place in my heart. I LOVE her! She believed in me when I didnt believe in myself. Thanks to Jamie, i have had 2 successful unmedicated VBACS! And i feel empowered as a mom and woman!
I just had my third baby, my first at the Anchorage Birth Center. My labor was pretty quick, but Jamie was an amazing, quiet, strong, and supportive presence. She was comforting, gentle, and kind the entire time and I know she played a huge role in everything going as smoothly and as calmly as it did! I can’t thank Jamie enough for everything she has done for us! My labor and my daughters birth was a healing experience thanks to Jamie and an amazing midwife team.
Jaime was there just after our third child was born (we didn’t know we would be having a baby as quickly as we did). We didn’t know that things were going to get harder than the birth, but she was there supporting me through it all and was there in the weeks post delivery checking in. She validated me and made me feel confident in the decisions that were made and how I could proceed in the future. She is such an amazing doula and photographer!
